Lab-Grown Diamonds
💎 LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS
REAL DIAMONDS. CREATED DIFFERENTLY.
A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond, created using advanced technology in a controlled environment.
It is made of crystallized carbon and has the same crystal structure as a natural diamond.
The difference is simply where it comes from.
A natural diamond forms deep within the Earth over millions of years.
A lab-grown diamond is created using advanced technology.
The result is still a diamond.
At DOC Company, we focus on high-quality lab-grown diamonds, with special attention to one of the characteristics we value most:
VVS
An exceptionally high clarity for those looking for a clean, brilliant and premium diamond.

💎 THE 4Cs
When you see something like:
1.00 CT · D · VVS1 · EXCELLENT
It might look like a bunch of letters and numbers.
But it's actually pretty simple.
The 4Cs are:
💎 CARAT
The weight of the diamond
🤍 COLOR
How colorless it is
🔍 CLARITY
How clean it is
✨ CUT
How it is cut and how it interacts with light
Let's break them down.
🤍 01 — COLOR
HOW COLORLESS IS IT?
Diamond color is traditionally graded from D to Z.
D represents the highest grade of colorlessness on this scale.
As we move toward Z, increasingly noticeable yellow or warm tones appear.
D · E · F
COLORLESS
A virtually colorless appearance.
G · H · I · J
NEAR COLORLESS
Very little visible color, with warmer tones becoming progressively more noticeable.
K → Z
Increasingly warm tones.

Visual comparison of the D → Z diamond color scale.
WHY DOES COLOR MATTER?
A diamond with less visible color can have a whiter, cleaner appearance.
At DOC Company, we look for a balanced combination of color, clarity and cut so the diamond looks incredible once it is set into the piece.
Because a diamond isn't just about one letter.
It's about how all its characteristics work together.
🔍 02 — CLARITY
HOW CLEAN IS IT?
This is where you will see terms such as:
VVS1 · VVS2 · VS1 · VS2 · SI1 · SI2
Clarity describes the internal and external characteristics found in a diamond.
And this is where we get to the famous:
INCLUSIONS
Inclusions are small characteristics that can be found inside a diamond.
They can include:
• Small crystals
• Pinpoints
• Clouds
• Needles
• Feathers
• Other internal characteristics
Not every diamond has the same inclusions.
Their size, position, number and how easy they are to see all contribute to the diamond's clarity grade.

💎 SO... WHAT DOES VVS ACTUALLY MEAN?
VERY VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED
This is one of the most important parts.
VVS is an exceptionally high clarity category.
The inclusions in a VVS diamond are extremely difficult to detect even under 10× magnification.
And this is where we find:
VVS1
Inclusions that are extremely difficult to locate under 10× magnification.
VVS2
Inclusions that are very difficult to locate under 10× magnification.
Both belong to the VVS clarity category.
Magnified comparison of VVS1 vs VVS2.
👀 WHAT ABOUT VS, SI...?
The clarity scale continues through several categories:
FL
FLAWLESS
No inclusions or blemishes visible under 10× magnification.
IF
INTERNALLY FLAWLESS
No internal inclusions visible under 10× magnification.
VVS1 / VVS2
VERY VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED
Extremely difficult-to-detect inclusions under 10×.
VS1 / VS2
VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED
Inclusions are easier to locate under 10×.
SI1 / SI2
SLIGHTLY INCLUDED
Inclusions are easier to detect.
I1 / I2 / I3
INCLUDED
Inclusions are obvious under magnification and may affect transparency and brilliance.

💎 WHY VVS AT DOC COMPANY?
Because we believe the details matter.
When you buy a piece with diamonds, we don't want you to simply see a beautiful stone.
We want you to understand what you're buying.
VVS offers an exceptionally high level of clarity, with inclusions that are extremely difficult to locate under magnification.
That's why, when we're looking for a premium clarity for our pieces:
WE CHOOSE VVS.
Not because lower clarity diamonds can't look amazing.
But because VVS represents the clarity standard we want to associate with DOC Company.

A selection made to stand out.
✨ 03 — CUT
THE CUT IS WHAT BRINGS THE LIGHT TO LIFE.
Here's something a lot of people get confused about:
CUT ≠ SHAPE
The shape can be:
ROUND · OVAL · PRINCESS · EMERALD · PEAR · MARQUISE · CUSHION · RADIANT
That's the diamond's shape.
The Cut refers to the quality of the diamond's proportions, symmetry and facets, and how they interact with light.
A well-cut diamond allows light to enter, reflect inside the stone and return toward your eyes.
THE RESULT?
✨ More brilliance
✨ More sparkle
✨ More light performance

⚖️ 04 — CARAT
WHAT DOES 1 CT MEAN?
Carat (ct) refers to the weight of the diamond.
1 CT = 0.20 GRAMS
For example:
0.50 CT → 0.10 g
1.00 CT → 0.20 g
1.50 CT → 0.30 g
2.00 CT → 0.40 g
But there is something important to remember:
CARAT ≠ EXACT SIZE
Two diamonds with the same carat weight can have different visual dimensions depending on their shape and how they are cut.

Visual comparison of 0.50 CT / 1 CT / 1.50 CT / 2 CT diamonds.
💎 LET'S DECODE A DIAMOND
1.00 CT · D · VVS1 · EXCELLENT
Now we can understand it.
1.00 CT
💎 The diamond weighs one carat.
D
🤍 The highest colorless grade on the D–Z scale.
VVS1
🔍 Exceptionally high clarity.
EXCELLENT
✨ Excellent cut grade.
IN SHORT:
A 1-carat diamond, with D color, VVS1 clarity and an Excellent cut.
Now those letters and numbers don't look so complicated.
🧪 LAB-GROWN DIAMOND VS MOISSANITE
Although they can look similar at first glance...
THEY ARE NOT THE SAME STONE.
💎 LAB-GROWN DIAMOND
✓ It is a diamond
✓ Crystallized carbon
✓ Diamond crystal structure
✓ Can be graded using the 4Cs
✓ Available in different colors, clarities, shapes and carat weights
✨ MOISSANITE
✓ A different gemstone
✓ Different chemical composition
✓ Its own optical properties
✓ Known for its impressive brilliance and fire
✓ An alternative to diamond
Both can create incredible jewelry.
But if you're looking for:
LAB-GROWN DIAMOND + HIGH CLARITY
At DOC Company, we choose:

📜 CERTIFICATION
When a diamond comes with a gemological certificate, its characteristics can be documented.
Depending on the grading laboratory and report, this can include information such as:
CARAT · COLOR · CLARITY · CUT · MEASUREMENTS

Example of a diamond grading certificate.
A certificate allows you to see the specific characteristics of the diamond you're purchasing.
